I have been working with online businesses for about ten years now. My how the time flies. I have been doing it professionally for about 5 years now. That means that I make a living doing it for those who need to make the connection. When I first started out in this business hosting and domain names were quite expensive. In todays world, everything has went up except hosting but if your in the business to make any real money then you already know you need more than one website to make a living. Ok, I admit some very lucky people have hit the jackpot with just one great idea and just one website but if your like me and I will assume most are, your not going to make it with just one site.
I'm not going to give you some secret concept here nor will it be new to a lot of people but if your just getting your feet wet in the business, this just might be an idea to build upon. It's very simple and require some work on your part but its not hard to do. Did I say you would have to actually do stuff? Of coarse you will, money don't grow on trees and you don't make it from doing nothing. I have over twenty websites right now and I pay absolutely nothing to host them and I have not paid a dime in over 3 years.
Did you know that there are still lots of businesses that do not have a business website? I am talking about everyday people running everyday type businesses like carpenters or car salesmen just for an example. The internet is such the big hype these days that most every business feels the need to have its own dot com even if it adds no real value to their business. Most feel the need to include a dot com on their business card. People feel like they aren't professional or people won't see them as a serious business without one. This is where you can cash in! This is where you make them pay for your web hosting. Lots of web hosts offer huge amounts of space for about seven dollars a month. I use servage.com but you can find many good hosting packages for around seven dollars. You get mega loads of web space.
All you have to do is go out in your local area and find some companies and offer to build them a web page for their company. Just use the example that they can include it on their business cards and explain how people can look it up and find important info like phone number, address or business hours. I charged forty dollars a year and included a domain name and web page plus hosting. Next year you can reduce the rate to thirty dollars. Just a plain simple html page and 10 minutes of your time. thats it and remember its not going to need updating on a regular basis. thats about thirty dollars profit per web site. Do the math, you get thirty dollars profit per site and just get ten businesses. Thats three hundred dollars in profit for hosting you pay sixty dollars a year to cover it all. These one page sites won't take any real space and you get the benefit from them. If you just sell two web pages you have made your hosting money for the year! Once I got one business on board and built his web page, he told a friend and before I knew it I had more business than I wanted. I now not only get my hosting for free but I also make a nice profit too. Not one customer has canceled the service since I started. If you wanted to, you could turn this into a nice money making business by itself. You just build it and let it sit on your server. You don't have to drive traffic to these sites because they aren't in the web business. It's like anything else in life, the more you put into it the more you will get out of it but it's not hard to just get two businesses to acept your offer and that alone will pay for your hosting for a year. It doesn't get any easier than this!
